Tyrol is in
the center of the finest ski areas in Austria. You can ski all day up
and down one mountain top to another following the "Skisafari"
at Kitzbühel, or take your time at St. Johann resting between runs
at the many restaurants and "icebars" located on the mountain.
Unlike many ski areas elsewhere, you will find many of the restaurants
on the mountains are family owned and operated. The food
is Because of the abundance of superb ski areas you will not encounter long lift lines. All trails are groomed and the modern cable cars, trams, and chair lifts are plentiful throughout Tyrol. Snow boards are permitted in all ski areas. Ski lift tickets vary in price, depending where you ski. The cost of lift tickets is approximately EUR 23 to 38 per day. The cost of a six-day area pass varies from about EUR 173 to 204. Also, children up to 15 years of age are eligible for substantial reductions for lift tickets; as much as 50 percent off adult prices. Generally, no charge for children up to the age of 6 years.
